FRN CONSTITUTIONS (1922-1999)

Nigeria has had a total of nine Constitutions since 1922. These can be divided into the Colonial period and the Post-Colonial period.
During the Colonial period, there were four Constitutions:
  • The Clifford Constitution of 1922
  • The Richards Constitution of 1946
  • The Macpherson Constitution of 1951
  • The Lyttleton Constitution of 1954
During the Colonial period, there were four Constitutions:
  • The 1960 Constitution (Independence Constitution)
  • The 1963 Constitution (First Republic)
  • The 1979 Constitution (Second Republic)
  • The 1993 Constitution (Third Republic)
  • The 1999 Constitution (Fourth Republic)
